The anticipated start date for this role is August 1st, 2021 or sooner depending on needs to support a growing client base. Venture Forthe is soliciting applications in anticipation of growth to support statewide operations. Venture Forthe has been selected as a Lead Fiscal Intermediary for the DOH’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program and is authorized to provide services throughout New York State. We provide a comprehensive array of supportive home care services with the explicit goal of maintaining the dignity and independence of our clients through person centered planning and compassionate care.

We want to set this site up to support our efforts.Venture Forthe is a Licensed Home Care Services Agency with over 20 years operating throughout Western and Central New York, and the Southern Tier. This change, in which Venture Forthe was granted Lead FI status, is new, and will go into effect in the next month or so. This means that these subcontractor companies provide the same services as us (so they essentially are our competitors), but they have to go through us to participate in the CDPAP program. This way, we make sure everything is in state compliance with these other companies, and the state only has to deal with us, instead of a hundred smaller companies. So while Venture Forthe acts as a Fiscal Intermediary, facilitating the care with individual Personal Assistants and consumers, we also act as a lead Fiscal Intermediary, facilitating the same work that other health care companies are doing, funneling that business to the state. Now, smaller Fiscal Intermediaries have to go through us to participate in the CDPAP program. Venture Forthe was therefore awarded “Lead FI” status. There were hundreds of health care companies in New York State who were acting as Fiscal Intermediaries, and the state wanted to consolidate. The CDPAP program started several years ago, and has grown to the point that the state has reworked its structure. As a Fiscal Intermediary, Venture Forthe facilitates scheduling and payment. The CDPAP program is separate from Venture Forthe’s established home health care business, in that CDPAP employees are not direct employees of Venture Forthe, but are employees of Medicaid. We participate in the program by communicating with Personal Assistants and Consumers, scheduling, processing timesheets and payroll, etc. To do this, Medicaid enlists the help of Fiscal Intermediaries (FIs) such as Venture Forthe. With CDPAP, the consumer is able to choose a family member or friend to take care of them, and that family member or friend gets paid by Medicaid. Through CDPAP, I would be able to take care of my mother, and get paid by Medicaid. For example, if my mother needs daily help and can’t be left alone, I take care of her and can’t get a job because she needs constant care.

This was put into place to serve people who need assistance, and rely on family or friends to provide it. Separately from this, Medicaid has a program called the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP).

We have an existing website which supports this going concern. We directly employ about 1200 Personal Care Aides, who work in the homes of consumers. A main focus of what we do is keeping people out of nursing homes, so they can continue to live at home.
